Hin und wieder versteht man den US-Markt nicht wirklich. Nonpoint sind seit gut zehn Jahren in der Szene aktiv, haben auch schon diverse Europaabstecher hinter sich gebracht, schlappe sieben Alben auf dem Buckel und legen "To The Pain" nun mit zwei Jahren Verspätung auch in Europa auf. Ist das sinnvoll?
von 2005, aber: volles brett, diese platte. dicke gitarren, geiles geshoute und rhythmen die einfach nur reingehen wie butter.
nonpoint mochte ich ja schon seit ich das erste mal "endure" anno 2002 oder so gehört habe, aber "bullet with a name", "the wreckoning" und "alive and kicking" um nur wenige von der platte zu nennen überzeugen mich doch restlos...
jejejeje! dürfte einigen ein begriff sein, aber wer die platte noch nicht hat und auf aufdienasegitarren steht, der sollte zugreifen.
ja, die gibts noch... jedenfalls ist to the pain vn 2005. und ja, das sind die die mal new metal gemacht haben wobei ich endure auch ganz schön fett fand.
sie haben halt ein händchen für ballerei und die richtige stärke.
"Now back with the release of To The Pain, it looks as though Nonpoint has finally embraced all of the elements that make them solid songwriters. Decidedly heavier than previous offerings, To The Pain kicks into high gear immediately with opening track and lead single ‘Bullet With A Name’, a gritty song with a massive heavy groove that drives the song into a breakneck chorus. The album’s title track is quite possibly the band’s strongest moment, a heavy track that breaks in the middle and splinters off into this amazing atmospheric melody that is just irresistible. From there the album continues to pummel with its pounding rhythms and hooky guitar riffage as it quickly soars through 14 tracks.
Nonpoint vocalist Elias Soriano seems to have re-discovered his fire with this release, something that was missing from Recoil. His vocal work on To The Pain sounds powerful and commanding, but at times he sounds soulful and able to compete with any truly great singer. Guitarist Andrew Goldman and drummer Robb Rivera also turned up the heat by turning in some of their best performances. Goldman creates some of the gigantic riffage that will stick in your head for hours, while Rivera pounds the drums with the power and conviction of Metallica’s Lars Ulrich.
Anyone who may have written Nonpoint off as a casualty of nu metal, should definitely take note of To The Pain, because this is obviously a band that has a lot more great music left in them. To The Pain is by far one of Nonpoint’s best albums that will hopefully see them back in the hard rock spotlight."
Was haben bloß alle gegen Nu-Metal? Das Zeug hat mich durch meien Schulzeit gebracht und wenn's gut gemahct ist, höre ich es auch heute noch gerne. Die damaligen Genregrößen sind ja mittlerweile alle Alternative-Bands ^^
Nu Metal ist einfach ein Scheiß Begriff, wie ich finde. Und Nonpoint setzen sich definitiv von anderen Bands wie *gähn* P.O.D. oder Limp Bizkit ab.. Elias Soriano kann wenigstens singen.. und zwar echt geil!

Hab Endure von damals im Regal stehen. Live fand ich sie auch recht ansprechend. Damals. Gibts die etwa noch?

Hehe, ist wie bei fast allen alten New Metal Platten: Man denkt die Band gibts eh nimmer.
